KYNSHOT - Hydraulic Recoil Buffer for AR-10 with collapsible stock (2.5")

In our experience, this is the softest running AR10 buffer on the market. It shock absorbs more than any other buffer design and makes a noticeable difference in recoil and shot recovery. Reduce felt recoil, improve reliability, reduce bolt carrier speed, reduce wear on parts, reduce shock and vibration to optics, and suppress bolt bounce with this simple drop-in replacement. Designed for AR-10 rifles with a collapsible stock and a buffer tube that is 7" on the inside. This buffer has a piston that is hydraulically dampened to absorb the shock of impact from the bolt carrier's rearward motion and to prevent bolt bounce as a new cartridge is chambered. You will feel less recoil and smoother operation with this buffer and you will see less movement of your sights during recoil for faster shot to shot recovery time.

After some friendly help from Brian, he helped me select the 2.5” unit to run in a Q Shorty stock on an AR9 build. The shorty, as one might guess, is shorter than a standard AR buffer tube. We paired this with a Sprinco 308 carbine spring due to the direct blowback nature of the AR9. This spring was a little too much, so I stepped down a little bit with an extra strength AR15 carbine spring and now she is running like a sewing machine! Felt recoil is next to nothing. I highly recommend this buffer. I am likely going to buy the larger 308 model for my AR308/AR10 next. If you are on the fence, I suggest reaching out to the Blitzkrieg team and getting their recommendations. This will save you time, money, and a ton of frustration.

ref Hydraulic KynSHOT Recoil Buffer - .308 Carbine 2.5" Product ID: KYN-RB5004 SPRINCO-25762 SPRINCO Buffer Spring - AR10 Carbine (Orange) AS RECOMMENDED BY OWNER BRIAN This combination was used in a complete custom build using an Angstadt Arms dedicated 9mm Glock/Colt pcc lower, dedicated 9mm PCC Rise Armament cassette trigger, dedicated 9mm PCC bolt and Blitzkrieg's buffer assembly all also nicely wrapped up and packaged in a dedicated 9mm PCC compact SB Tactical HBPDW stabilizing brace, while the entire package combination is as slick as a lamb skin prophylactic. See attached photo and tell me I'm wrong. Can't see Blitzkrieg's buffer assembly, but it's in there for certain. These choices all make for a compliant, sweet reliable PCC. No muss. No fuss. The .308 Kynshot and .308 orange buffer spring were recommended for my specific build by the owner Brian, rather than the 9mm kits, due to fitment in the SB Tactical HBPDW stabilizing brace smaller footprint, as well as field experiences that show this combo to work best for my size and style 9mm PCC with 4" to 5.5" barrel, brake and stabilizing brace. Happy times are here!

What is the best buffer and spring set up for my AR15 .223/5.56 carbine with a 16” barrel?
- Use the Kynshot RB5000 standard carbine hydraulic buffer and a slightly extra power buffer spring such as the JP .223 carbine spring or the Sprinco Enhanced Power Carbine Spring – Color Code Blue.
What is the best buffer and spring set up for my AR10 in .308/7.62 or 6.5 Creedmoor?
- If it has a collapsible stock and 16” barrel or longer, use the Kynshot 2.5” AR10 buffer or the Kynshot 3.25” AR10 buffer, depending on the buffer tube length. Use an AR10 carbine buffer spring such as the JP .308 carbine spring or the Sprinco AR10 carbine Spring – Color Code Orange.

- Use an RB5000HP buffer and a Sprinco Red extra power AR15 carbine buffer spring. SBRs are somewhat hard to predict. Most run harder than a typical AR15 carbine, but occasionally one will run softer. So, you usually need this heavier buffer set up with a short barreled .223/5.56 guns, but to be sure you would need to run it and see how it cycles and ejects.
What is the best buffer and spring set up for my AR15 .300 BLK?
- .300 Blackout (BLK) has a number of unique things to be aware of when making your buffer and spring selection. This cartridge has faster-burning powder than typical rifle cartridges since it was made to work well in short barreled rifles (SBRs). So, the gas pressure in the barrel drops off much faster than with a .223 or other AR cartridges. This is why .300 BLK guns require shorter gas tubes for the same length barrel. They have to have the gas port where the gas pressure will still be high enough to run the bolt. But even with the shorter gas systems, the gas pressure is usually on the low side with .300 BLK guns. So they don’t run the bolt as hard as other AR15s. In addition to this, there are two very different types of loads for the .300 BLK – Supersonic and Subsonic. These two loadings are like two different cartridges making buffer selection more challenging. Subsonic loads have energy similar to a handgun, while supersonic loads have more energy than a 5.56, even though the gas pressure still drops off faster. Supersonic .300 BLK loads run a bit softer than a typical 5.56 of the same barrel length. Subsonic loads run much softer and sometimes won’t function reliably without a 3 oz conventional buffer and a reduced power buffer spring. If the subsonic loads are run with a suppressor, then that helps a bit with the gas pressure. For these reasons and taking it all into consideration, we recommend staying on the light side with your buffer and spring selection and go with a set up that should run well and feel great with most loadings. We recommend the RB5000L (light) buffer model with the Sprinco Yellow Reduced Power Buffer Spring. This gives you the best chance of it running well with both types of loads. However, be aware that there are some .300 BLK guns that will only run subsonic loads with a 3 oz conventional buffer. Every gun is somewhat unique, and there are a lot of variables. Longer barrels, suppressors (and even some compensators) and ammo selection can help a lot to ensure sufficient gas pressure for reliable function.
