Blitzkrieg Components / KynSHOT 9mm AR-15 Hydraulic Buffer - High Damped

Our Heavy Damped (HD) PCC Buffer Model has stiffer hydraulic dampening and stronger return spring for high stress applications. For Pistol Caliber Carbine builds that need increased shock absorption. Can be used in typical PCC carbine builds as well as short-stroke systems, and for hotter ammo. This HD model is not recommended for short barreled builds since they do not run the bolt as hard and will get more effect from the standard model. This buffer model was developed to fill the need for stiffer shock absorption which is needed on some PCC guns. If you plan to run your gun in a short stroke manner, then we recommend this buffer with our PCC buffer weight which will add mass while shortening the stroke. Many shooters feel that this buffer with the PCC buffer weight is the softest running even with a full stroke 16" carbine.

Blitzkrieg Components partnered with KynSHOT to develop a top-of-the-line 9mm specific AR-15 buffer using KynShot's Hydraulic Buffer Technology. The Hydraulic Buffer body uses hydraulic shock absorption to dampen the impact of the bolt at the rear of its travel and also to dampen the forward impact of the Buffer's weight as it chambers the next round. It's weight and length have been optimized for the 9mm application so that it runs reliably, softens recoil, smooths out the action, and stops just behind the bolt catch using any 9mm Parabellum (9x19mm) ammo type. It provides the softest recoil impulse of any 9mm buffer we know of and will allow very fast follow up shots, improved accuracy and less wear on the firearm. The hydraulic fluid and seals are made to meet mil-spec requirements and have an ambient temperature operating range of -30F to +150F.

The blowback operation of a PCC AR-15 drives a very heavy bolt much harder than a standard AR-15 BCG and it needs to be dampened as much as possible to optimize the system, reduce wear on the firearm and reduce recoil and sight movement. For this reason, the buffer is a very important component in getting a AR-15 PCC to run at its full potential. The design is simple, yet very effective and will feel softer and run quieter than any conventional AR buffer. Spring noise is also dramatically reduced using this buffer. The length of our buffer stops the bolt just behind the bolt catch on a 9mm AR-15 without the need for a spacer.

Buffer Spring selection is very important to optimal performance and minimal recoil and sight movement. While the 5015HD buffer has increased resistance compared to the 5007 buffer, it will need similar spring strength to get optimal performance unless additional weight is added using our PCC buffer weight. If using the buffer weight, then spring strength can often be reduced. Trial and error is often needed.

Spring Selection Guidance:
*The following is provided as general guidance as a starting point in spring selection on 9mm carbines:
P 308 Rifle Spring - 14.5" & 16" barrel without PCC buffer weight
JP 308 Carbine Spring or SPRINCO Orange Spring - 14.5" & 16" barrel with PCC buffer weight

Using with PCC Buffer Weight:

Our PCC buffer weight can be used with this buffer to add more mass in front of the buffer. This often softens the action even further and can also allow you to step down one level in spring strength from a .308 rifle to a .308 carbine spring in a typical 16" carbine.

Bolt Weight:
If your bolt has a weight in it, we recommend keeping the weight in the bolt. Removing the weight to get a lighter bolt is not recommended for blowback guns even with light competition loads.

Over the last several years our buffers have been run hard by thousands of shooters in just about every conceivable type of build and in intense PCC competition. We have had great feedback from our customers which has resulted in several rounds of product improvements in 2018 to achieve maximum effectiveness and service life. Our goal is the most effective buffer and the most durable. The buffers we are now shipping have all the latest improvements.

5 of 5 Buffer testing for my 9mm PCC competition rifle. May 21, 2019
Reviewer: Mike Spear from Rogers, AR United States
I use my JP GMR-15 rifle exclusively for USPSA competition and have spent over a year trying all kinds different buffer and spring combinations.  I always end up back with the Blitzkrieg buffer!  It is the very best at reducing red dot movement and now when some new wonder buffer comes out I save my money and know I have the best product available.  Salute to Brian and all the team at Blitzkrieg you guys are the best!  Thank you.

5 of 5 Excellent buffer for high PF ammo May 1, 2019
Reviewer: T. Owens from Glendale, AZ United States
My new MBX barrel loves 147 gr. ammo.  I switched from the Standard hydro buffer to this heavy hydro buffer to accommodate the higher Power Factor (PF).  It works great.  Fast follow up shots with very low felt recoil.  The HD buffer with a JP 308 Rifle length spring is perfect for high PF rounds.

5 of 5 Not sure what it's doing, but it's doing it right. April 18, 2019

I have been looking for an alternative recoil system for my dedicated PCC in 45 ACP. I wanted to avoid using the usual 10+ ounce buffer weight that is usually the solution for a suppressed PCC application.

After some communication with the staff here at Blitzkrieg (great and informative communication by the way), I decided to get this HD hydraulic buffer paired with the red HD spring. The staff was not 100% sure what setup I should go with considering they have not done or have not finished testing with calibers such as 45 ACP.

I put about 300 rounds through my AR45 about a week ago with this enhanced buffer system and I have noticed a significant reduction in recoil as well as a far cleaner action. Not to mention (and it may be just my ear) but it even sounds quieter with the suppressor! I believe the bolt velocity has been slowed but also dampened by the hydraulic buffer and heavy spring.

I love it and would 100% purchase this again.

5 of 5 Worth every cent February 18, 2019
Reviewer: Rick M from Boston
I purchased this to replace my 5007 so I could run a short stroke set up. Initially I was running a 5007 with a new frontier spacer at the end of my tube, then when Blitzkrieg released the HD and 2.6oz weight, I ordered the weight first. I eventually broke down and got the buffer and installed it with the 2.6oz weight into my PCC and did some tests with ammo.

I ran my rifle with minor power factor ammo, about 130-135pf, and the 5105HD w/weight. It is so damn soft now I was blown away. I worked my way through different factory ammo then into my reloads and once I got to lower PF ammo I saw the massive change. It feels like a paintball gun or a 22 that has a hair more recoil than normal.

I would highly recommend this for competitive shooters or those who just want a soft shooting rifle.

5 of 5 Best investment in my pcc December 17, 2018
Reviewer: Brooklyn Willis from Crossville, TN United States
This has improved my split times and hits on target. I paired this with the short stroke and red sprinco. Using 140.12 pf 124 gr fmj at the dot never leaves the target. Side note I didn’t plan on buying this, I called to ask about a prior order I made on a spring. At 6pm on a Friday Brian answered and spoke with me for easily an hour. He went in depth about the mechanics of the buffer and how to make the pcc perform better. I was sold after his display of enthusiasm for this product.
